I didn’t know President-elect Barack Obama smokes cigarettes.

Something about reading that news made my nose crinkle. And then I thought about Michelle Obama kissing him and wondering if he had cigarette breath? Is that why they fist-bump?

I know, I’m weird. Just jokes, people.

But, have you ever kissed somebody after they just got finished smoking?
Unsure which is worse between that and kissing someone with morning breath!

I excitedly Barack’d the vote today.

Now, I could easily break into a litany of reasons why I support him for president, including everything from his proposed tax cuts for the middle class to his universal health care plan (Just as easily as I’m sure McCain supporters could do the same for their candidate.)

However, I’d rather keep with the theme of “Single, No Chaser” and dote on another reason I like him that has absolutely nothing to do with politics – the way he seems to love his wife and children.

We’ve seen the images and whether you’re an Obama fan or not, it’s always special to see a man who seems to be a devoted husband and father.

I mean, I don’t know him personally. It’s not like he’s my kinfolk or anything, but those captured moments of him with his family seem so precious, genuine and … familiar.

The loving glances that Barack and Michelle exchange with one another remind me of the way my mother and father still look at each other even after nearly 36 years of marriage.www.politicalarticles.net

Seeing the pictures of Malia and Sasha sprawled across their parents’ laps conjure up my own childhood memories, growing up the older of two sisters.

And the way he listens to his children as if what they’re saying is the most important thing in the world at that time reminds me of the countless conversations my sister and I punished my parents with through the years and how they enthusiasticaly followed every single word of it.www.cbsnews.com

And at the same time, while those images remind me of the past, they also personify the kind of family I hope to have some day. (Well, that is if I could get past this whole I-don’t-wanna-have-kids thing!)
